TGMA Faces Venue Uncertainty Ahead of This Year’s Awards

Organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards are facing a major logistical challenge as they scramble to secure a venue for this year’s highly anticipated ceremony.
In a recent interview on Daybreak Hitz, a program on Hitz FM, it was revealed that the usual host venue, Grand Arena, is currently unavailable for the event. Speaking on the show, the PRO of Charterhouse Productions, Robert Klah, explained that access to the facility has been restricted due to decisions by the landowners.
“Unfortunately, the Grand Arena is not available. What I know is that the owners of the land would love to have their place so we don’t have access to it, so we have to look for another venue,” he stated.

The development has created uncertainty around the planning of one of Ghana’s biggest music events, which annually attracts top artists, industry stakeholders, and fans from across the country and beyond. The Grand Arena has in recent years become synonymous with the awards night, hosting memorable performances and high-profile moments.
With the venue now out of reach, organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards are actively exploring alternative locations capable of matching the scale, production quality, and prestige associated with the show.
Industry watchers say the change in venue could present both challenges and opportunities. While it may disrupt traditional planning processes, it also opens the door for innovation and a fresh experience for audiences.
Despite the setback, organizers remain optimistic about delivering a successful event. Discussions are reportedly ongoing to secure a suitable venue that meets technical and logistical requirements in time for the ceremony.
As anticipation builds for this year’s TGMA, stakeholders and fans alike will be watching closely to see where the iconic awards night will ultimately take place.
