The Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC), working in collaboration with the National Technical Working Committee of the GITFiC Agenda 2031, is proud to announce that the Right Honourable Speaker of Parliament of Ghana, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, will serve as Chair of the 9th edition of the Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2025 conference will feature the second convening of the Global Debt Initiative, held under the theme \u201cSpurring GITFiC\u2019s Global Debt Initiative: Consolidating Member States\u2019 Gains for Synergistic Impact.\u201d Additionally, this year introduces the inaugural GITFiC\u2013AfCFTA Tertiary Students\u2019 Congress\u2014an important expansion of GITFiC\u2019s youth engagement strategy aligned with Agenda 2031. The conference is scheduled for 27th\u201329th November 2025 in Accra, Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of three days, the event will bring together Ministers from Member States, Central Bank Governors, International Development Experts, Global Economists, Business Leaders, Academia, and Civil Society. Participants will engage in high-level discussions on critical issues surrounding debt sustainability, trade, and regional integration under the AfCFTA. The newly established AfCFTA Tertiary Students\u2019 Congress will further empower young Africans to contribute to shaping the continent\u2019s future in trade and finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rt. Hon. Speaker\u2019s role as Chair reinforces Ghana\u2019s strong commitment to inclusive economic development and African-led financial policy solutions. His involvement highlights the essential role of parliamentary leadership in supporting transparent, accountable, and sustainable economic frameworks across Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A key feature of this year\u2019s gathering is the formal establishment of the GITFiC AfCFTA Students\u2019 Congress\u2014building on GITFiC\u2019s ongoing work to develop AfCFTA-focused student clubs and curriculum across African tertiary institutions. This initiative aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders, analysts, and innovators who will influence Africa\u2019s economic trajectory in the years ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its inception, GITFiC has served as a leading platform for advancing dialogue on trade and finance in Africa, strengthening collaboration between governments, financial institutions and academia.
